A vueltas con el carpe diem, Charles Bukowski, símbolo del "realismo sucio", de la literatura independiente, escribió este inspirador poema de la colección póstuma Betting on the Muse, The Laughing Heart, que os sonará porque una marca de pantalones lo ha usado en su campaña publicitaria bajo el lema Go Forth.
La poesía tiene ese maravilloso poder de inspirar que no tienen otros géneros, ya sea por su inmediatez, su brevedad o su fuerza. La de inspirar es una característica que, en mi opinión, tiene la poesía de muchos autores norteramericanos como Whitman o Robert Frost, por poner algunos ejemplos. Hoy queríamos compartir este poema de Bukowski contigo en su versión original y recuerda que tu vida es tuya. Está alerta, hay maneras de salir a flote, de rebelarse. Hay una luz en algún sitio y oportunidades delante de ti, a tu alcance. Arriésgate, aprovecha el momento.
